Delete your ForageFinds account

You can delete your ForageFinds account and the data linked to it at any time, either in the ForageFinds app or by emailing us. Deleting your account is permanent and can't be undone.

1. Delete your account in the app

This is the quickest way, and your account is deleted straight away.

  1. Open the ForageFinds app and sign in.
  2. On the map, tap the Settings button (the gear icon, top left).
  3. Under Account, tap Delete Account.
  4. Read the confirmation, then tap Delete Account again.

When it's done you'll be signed out and returned to the sign-in screen.

2. Delete your account by email

If you've uninstalled the app or can't sign in, you can ask us to delete your account instead.

  1. Email foragefinds.app@gmail.com from the email address you use to sign in to ForageFinds.
  2. Use the subject "Delete my ForageFinds account".
  3. We may reply to confirm the request comes from you.

We'll delete your account within 30 days of your request and email you when it's done.

Signing out or uninstalling the app doesn't delete your account. It only removes the data stored on that device.

3. What's deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

  • Your account: your email address, password and user ID.
  • Every spot you created: titles, notes, tags, locations and visibility settings.
  • Photos attached to your spots.
  • Invite codes for your spots. Friends who joined your spots lose access straight away.
  • Your memberships of spots friends shared with you, so you no longer have access to them.
  • Data on your device, when you delete in the app: saved spots, photos and pending uploads.

4. What's kept, and for how long

  • Spots that belong to other people aren't deleted, including ones you joined with an invite code. Only your access to them is removed.
  • Backups and logs: copies of deleted data can stay in our hosting provider's encrypted backups and server logs until they're automatically overwritten, within 30 days. They aren't used for anything else in that time.
  • Deletion requests by email: we keep your email only as long as we need it to confirm your account has been deleted.

We don't keep any other data about you after your account is deleted.
